All About Dennis Townsend

Dennis has been weaving for the past 30 years after his wife, Ann, saw someone spinning wool in the Yorkshire Dales and decided to try hobby for herself. After being advised not to get into weaving due to the expense, Dennis ignored the warning and self-taught himself by reading related books. He bought his first loom for only £20 and the rest is now history!
Dennis has been touring crafts fairs for the past 10 years; selling his rugs and other sheep related products. His first was Sandringham Craft and Food Fair, Norfolk, where he was invited to fill one of their available spaces.
“What I make is my own ideas, like my Wensleydale rug designs”
The average rug takes about a week; however, his speciality Wensleydale takes around two due to incorporating a bespoke Turkish knot.
If you like one of the designs but it isn’t in your desired size, please contact Dennis directly on either his email or mobile number.
